Public Notice -  Reynolds Road is now closed to all thru traffic until further notice.  Karvo began earthwork near Reynolds Rd. on Monday, April 28th.  Depending on weather, daily progress, etc., the closure will be for several months..   Detour signage has been posted that is detailed in ODOT’s maintenance of traffic plan which detours traffic around this road demolition.  Thank you for your patience.

 Re:      Traffic Pattern Shift 02/25/08

  Dear Sir or Madam,

Regarding Karvo/ODOT’s instructions for affected residents on the topic of driveway access, please read the following:

The traffic switch is now scheduled for Monday February 25th,2008.  Be advised that once the one lane of East bound traffic is moved onto the new pavement, work on the demolition of the remains of the two bridges within project limits and storm drainage construction will begin soon afterward.  This means that driving within the work area (which is illegal to begin with) will be extremely treacherous.  ALL residents are advised to use only approved entrance and exit locations from the work zone or their homes at all times.  These locations are:

For Phase 2 beginning immediately after traffic is flipped:

South side Residents-Traffic pattern will be similar to permanent, with the only difference being traffic will be confined to the outside (southern most) lane.  NO WESTBOUND TRAFFIC ALLOWED, FOLLOW ODOT DETOUR.

North side Residents-Exit and enter driveway by crossing the unpaved area that is the future turn lane by using the paved aprons directly across from each driveway. When exiting a residence, turn left, then merge into EASTBOUND traffic only. When entering from the West, turn off the new pavement and use the same temporary aprons.  NO WESTBOUND TRAFFIC ALLOWED, FOLLOW ODOT DETOUR.

 Sincerely,

Karvo Paving

Progress Meeting for the U.S. 422 Construction Project: Tuesday 1/08/08.

 Present:

Pete & Al from The Cleveland Group; Guido from Karvo Paving; Ron, Randy, and Tom from ODOT; Pat Joyce from Parkman Township.

Important information from meeting pertaining to Parkman residents:

  1. Within the coming weeks Karvo Paving will be flipping traffic to begin work on the Westbound side of U.S.  422.  ODOT advised Karvo Paving to correspond with residents within the work area in writing before traffic patterns were changed to begin Phase II of the project.  Please notify ODOT and the Township if Karvo fails to correspond in writing.
  2. Here are the following requirements for maintaining traffic during Phase II per Item 614:
    1. Westbound U.S. 422 and Main Market Road traffic to remain detoured as per Phase I.
    2. Close Reynolds Road to thru traffic and detour traffic to Hobart Road. (This will mainly affect Southbound Traffic that had been using Reynolds Road to access U.S. 422.  ODOT advised the traffic impact would be monitored. Eastbound U.S. 422 traffic to one lane and shift to the new outside eastbound lane constructed in Phase I.
    3.  Bi-directional traffic on the permanent lanes has now been implemented on S.R. 282.
    4. Construct the center turn lane and two westbound lanes on U.S. 422.  Remove the crossover constructed in Phase I.
    5. Construct the Proposed Reynolds Road pavement.
    6.  Removal of the temporary pavement on the East side of S.R. 282, some ditch work, and landscaping, and other minor details will be completed later this year.
    7. Access to drives shall be maintained at all times.
  3. ODOT advised Karvo Paving to address damage claims by Parkman Township Residents.
  4. Parkman Township asked that Karvo Paving do a better job of communicating with both its residents and its Fire Department during Phase II than it did in Phase I.  Preferably in writing.  (As a side note, State Senator Grendell is aware of the many issues our residents had during Phase I of the project.  Steps are being taken to address these issues and hopefully prevent future ones.)
